We are offering a role for an experienced Claims Adjuster, specifically in the auto industry, located in Overland Park, Kansas, 66210, United States. This role is an integral part of our team, responsible for managing all aspects of Auto General Liability (AGL) claims and file reviews. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Review claim and policy information to provide background for investigation
• Conduct interviews and obtain statements from insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, police officers, etc. to secure necessary claim information
• Evaluate facts supplied by investigation to determine the extent of the company's obligation to the insured under the policy contract
• Prepare reports on investigation, settlements, denials of claims, individual evaluations of involved parties, etc.
• Set reserves within authority limits and recommend reserve changes to Team Leader
• Review progress and status of claims with Team Leader and discuss problems and suggested remedial actions
• Assist Team Leader in developing methods and improvements for handling claims
• Settle claims promptly and equitably
• Obtain releases, proofs of loss or compensation agreements, and issue company drafts in payments for claims
• Inform claimants, insureds/customers or attorney of denial of claim when applicable
• Display strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of an organization both internal and external
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Exhibit technical claims knowledge and competence as evidenced by a minimum of 2 years claims handling experience in specific line of business – Auto
• Utilize knowledge of auto liability cost containment programs and proven account management skills
• Show strong understanding of applicable legal principles.• Proficiency in customer service and strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in training and supervising team members
• Knowledge of policy and payment processing in the auto insurance industry
• Familiarity with claim administration and negotiation processes
• Ability to manage accounts effectively
• Understanding of best practices in the auto insurance industry
• Experience with appraisals and settlements in the auto insurance industry
• Knowledge of liability and release processes in the auto insurance industry
• Ability to handle denial of claims and work with witnesses
• Familiarity with FACTS system
• Experience in onsite work
• Ability to prepare detailed reports regarding claims
• Understanding of principles and methods of the auto insurance industry
• Experience with property damage claims in the auto insurance industry
• Able to progress claims in a timely manner
• Knowledge of auto insurance claim best practices.
