We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process, Quality and Compliance Manager to oversee all aspects of quality assurance and quality control processes within our fragrance manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality management, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for maintaining the highest standards of product excellence. This role is critical in ensuring our products meet FDA regulations and other industry standards while maintaining the highest quality and safety.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards for fragrance production processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Establish and manage comprehensive compliance programs, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements, to ensure adherence to FDA regulations and industry standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of rigorous quality control procedures for all stages of production, from raw materials to finished products. Ensure meticulous record-keeping in line with GMP and regulatory requirements, maintaining detailed documentation of all quality control activities.
  • Establish and maintain quality inspection protocols for raw materials, intermediate products, and finished fragrances to identify any deviations or defects.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of production facilities to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, research and development, and regulatory affairs to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, customers, and external auditors. Lead the preparation and execution of FDA and EPA inspections, ensuring full compliance and prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Manage a team of quality control technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure adherence to quality standards and objectives.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify recurring issues, root causes, and opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints or quality incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain documentation of quality control activities, including test results, inspection reports, and corrective action records, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about developments in fragrance manufacturing technology, quality management practices, and regulatory standards to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, customers, and external auditors during inspections and audits, demonstrating compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in the food or cosmetics industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance roles within the food, fragrance or cosmetics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fragrance chemistry, manufacturing processes, and quality control techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP, EPA requirements, and quality control techniques specific to cosmetic or food production.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and tools, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Quality Management.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and motivating a team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
