Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting operations, financial reporting and internal control processes. The Controller will report to the CFO and will be primarily responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for 8 companies and supervising a growing accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, intercompany reconciliations and fixed assets.
• Manage month-close process.
• Design policies and procedures as needs arise, or in anticipation of needs.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage internal controls and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Implement and maintain accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational & problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA certification
• Strong communication skills and pleasant management style
• Experience in start-up environment
• Financial audit experience in a Big-4 or semi-national accounting firm
• Familiarity with financial automation tools
