Job Summary
The CNC Machinist is responsible for the daily operation of the machines in their area and the quality of the machined products. the hours for first shift are Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm.
Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of the CNC Machinist consist of, but are not limited to:

- Competency within the machining departments
- Set up machine(s) for all jobs. Occasionally, could require help on more advanced set ups from Supervisor or Sr. Machinist
- Recommend and implement processes improvements in collaboration with Engineering and Sr. Machinist
- Perform in process inspection of machined products (including documentation of results)
- Complete and maintain paperwork for parts
- Complete secondary operations I.E., deburr, polish, etc. in cycle time per print and process
- Understanding and troubleshoot Inspection Factory
- Troubleshoot processes with the support from a Supervisor, Engineer, and/or Sr Machinist
- Perform total productive machine maintenance, has knowledge and ability to make minor repairs and perform troubleshooting activities
- Can assist in performing 1st piece inspections
- Maintain efficiency and productivity when completing machine set-up, production, and maintenance duties
- Train other machinist or operators to jobs, controls, and machines
- Maintain written log communications at machine creating an archive of machine and part knowledge easily accessible by another shift or supervisor (OneNote)
- Exhibit a working knowledge of health and safety, responsible for safety awareness, while upholding and improving the culture of safety within the organization. Identify opportunities for improvement and act if appropriate before a problem occurs. Report potential hazards, unsafe working conditions, unsafe equipment, unsafe acts, and injuries immediately

Requirements
Education and Experience
- Two-year certificate in machine trades preferred
- 2+ years of experience in CNC machining

Competencies
- Proven competency in assigned machining area; learning and collaborating with Senior Machinist and Supervisors
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use hand-held measuring tools
- Ability to create simple open set up inspection to validate set ups and validate CMM results
- Basic understanding of programs at the controller
- Proficient in GD&T
- Demonstrated knowledge of SPC
- Understanding of tools required to check product to guarantee part quality
- Experience using manual inspection equipment
- Knowledge of CMM & VCMM
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated quality record
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in various computer software applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote
- Enhanced problem-solving skills
- Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Able to work independently and as a team
- Self-starter with great analytical skills
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing with occasional twisting (80-90% of the workday)
- Various sitting periods throughout the shift
- Frequent lifting of materials up to 30 lbs., occasional lifting to 50 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling carts and/or pallet jacks
- Dexterity - with computers, ability to type, use of mouse, at a computer
- Continuous use of hands and upper extremities in fine and gross manipulation using various wrist positions and grip/pinch spans to operate equipment, push buttons, carry boxes, push carts, etc.
- Frequent firm grip with tools requiring torque to tighten machine parts, tooling, and fixtures
- Must be able to meet customer demand requirements for performing visual inspection and/or other product acceptance activities with or without accommodation ( only for positions in which this is a requirement of the job per the customer requirement)
