What You Will Do Occupational Health is seeking a reliable, self motivated, and energetic employee to help support the overall mission of Occupational Health. The selected candidate will support the Integrated Health Services and Health Information Management teams with customer service duties to include answering patient questions, covering the front desk, directing phone calls, checking in appointments, coordinating medical records requests, working with providers to get external medical records information and managing health information as needed. The selected candidate will be expected to work independently requiring minimal supervision. This is an entry level position in a professional medical field.
What You Need Minimum Job Requirements - Experience providing excellent customer service.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills, both orally and writing.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work with sensitive information.
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment and interact with all levels of internal and external personnel.
- Entry level knowledge of health information management policies governing the appropriate handling of medical information, including policies governing confidentiality and release of information.
- Entry level knowledge of medical terminology.
Education/Experience : Position requires a minimum of 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications: - Current Certification and skill in basic life support (BLS).
- Current HIPAA certification.
- Proficient in computer use, office software, and web interfaces.
- Entry level knowledge of, and experience with, effective communication techniques.
- Entry level knowledge working with an Electronic Health Record.
- Experience and demonstrated skill in supporting research, investigating alternative solutions and recommending solutions on problems affecting administrative activities related to medical records and reporting.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
