Description

Position Summary

The Grant Manager will oversee and manage the grant funding process for Legal Aid of Nebraska with approximately 90 funding sources across federal, state, foundation, and private funding streams. The Grant Manager will work closely with our development team to ensure that all funding is effectively secured, managed, and reported, to ensure compliance, and accurate financial tracking. Developing and fostering relationships with funding partners is integral to the organization's mission to expand access to justice through sustainable and strategic grant management.

Essential Functions

Grant Management and Administration

•Manage the lifecycle of grants, from application to closeout, ensuring compliance with all funder requirements.

•Maintain and oversee grant management systems, tracking key metrics, deliverables and deadlines for all active grants.

•Develop and implement systems and procedures to monitor grant progress and ensure adherence to funder requirements and deadlines.

Budget and Financial Oversight

•Work with finance staff to track and report on grant spending and proactively communicate with finance and development teams regarding budget adjustments or reallocation requests.

•Ensure that all financial reporting and documentation is accurate, timely, and aligns with funder specifications.

•Collaborate with the Finance team to monitor budgets for all grant-funded projects.

•Track grant expenditures and ensure proper allocation and alignment with grant requirements.

Grant Reporting and Compliance

•Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to funding agencies, in coordination with program, finance, and development staff, ensuring all grant obligations are met.

•Ensure compliance with all grant requirements, including eligibility guidelines, reporting standards, and allowable costs.

•Develop and maintain relationships with funders, responding to any requests or queries in a timely manner.

Collaboration with Development and Program Teams

•Work closely with the Development team to support grant application processes, including writing, editing and submission.

•Assist in preparing narrative documentation required for proposals and renewals.

•Contribute to the identification of new funding opportunities to support program sustainability and growth.

Data Management and Reporting

•Maintain an organized and up-to-date record of all grant-related documents, budgets, and communications.

•Support the development team in gathering data for impact reporting and communications materials related to grant-funded initiatives.

Requirements

Core Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant management, including managing multiple grants with various funding sources. As well as a strong background in nonprofit funding, compliance, and reporting.

Preferred Requirements:

Master's degree in business, finance or public administration Legal Aid of Nebraska
