POSITION SUMMARY USA Lacrosse is looking for a Graphic Designer who will conceptualize, design, and produce visuals for a wide variety of print and digital mediums, including but not limited to, event promotion, publications, print and digital ads, social media graphics, infographics, brochures, posters, retail designs and graphics, and illustrations. In this role you get to work with our Art Director to create visually appealing and effective materials by partnering with departments throughout the organization to innovate and bring their ideas to life.

A Typical Day Looks Like... - Participates in kickoff meetings with internal customers to understand the scope of project, identify solutions and priorities, obtain all necessary information, determine deliverables, and set timelines.
- According to project scope, creates and designs polished, professional marketing materials while using current graphic design trends and aesthetic layouts.
- Provides excellent customer service while developing professional, creative, and effective solutions consistent with brand standards and according to established budget(s) and timelines.
- Assists with the design of USA Lacrosse Magazine by designing certain sections of the magazine as directed.
- Coordinates with print vendors and reviews the printing process to ensure quality and accuracy. This includes escalating any issues and/or concerns to the Art Director.
- Participates in team meetings and brainstorming sessions on projects to effectively rollout marketing campaigns to ensure communication of the intended message.
- Works closely with the marketing team to understand project requirements and ensure that designs meet marketing goals. This includes making recommendations to improve and enhance processes as appropriate.
- Uses internal tools (i.e. Monday.com) to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project deadlines. This includes keeping stakeholder(s) updated on any foreseeable issues, including possible delays and troubleshoots accordingly.
- Assists the Art Director in monitoring incoming design requests, plans and prioritizes, and follows up with and keeps open lines of communication with the internal customer.
- In accordance with existing standard operating procedures (SOPs), organizes, coordinates, and names files appropriately for team members, vendors, and clients so they can be easily accessed. This includes updating SOPs as necessary.
- Is continuously learning to stay current on industry trends, best practices, design software, tools, and techniques to keep USA Lacrosse always on the forefront and cutting edge of all our graphic designs and representations to drive business outcomes for clear call to actions.
Is This You... - Two (2) to five (5) years hands-on graphic design experience in marketing or agency environment.
- Mac OS proficiency required.
- Extensive knowledge of industry-standard software, including ability to create, review and edit graphics through Adobe Creative Suite, with a particular focus on InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of typography, layout, color, and graphic design principles with the ability to continually learn to stay current on new trends.
- Strong portfolio of work with a wide range of creative projects. Previous illustration and retail design experience a plus.
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and digital marketing best practices.
- Experience creating and editing print marketing materials, large format printing, packaging, digital ads, website assets, social media content, and illustrations.
- Knowledge of pre-press and printing process.
- Openness to constructive and customer feedback with the ability to pivot as needed without taking feedback personally.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal. This includes the ability to collaborate, manage projects, and build relationships to establish trust and credibility.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, follow up/through skills, and the ability to meet established deadlines on budget.
- Willingness to learn and bring creative ideas to the team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid (in-office/remote) work environment in a fast-paced, "roll up your sleeves" environment to deliver results based on organizational objectives.
- Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and appreciate the need to develop and fuel the growth of game with diversity, equity, and inclusion always in mind.
- Ability to align with USA Lacrosse's Mission, Vision, and Values and Strategic Plan to support our initiatives and organizational goals.
Expected Hours of Work This position is generally expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and occasionally requires longer hours or weekend work as related to events and other business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.
Travel Requirements Travel may be necessary up to 5% of the time (local, regional). Travel would involve the following mode(s) of travel: car, train, or air. Some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.
