Job Title : Medical Assistant - Contract
Location : New York, NY (Postal Code: 10025)
Duration: 3 Months
Shift : Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (with one late-night shift until 8:00 PM)

Hours Per Week : 37.5

Job Summary : The Medical Assistant will support patient care by assisting with clinical tasks and clerical duties. Responsibilities include performing venipuncture, EKGs, and point-of-care testing, as well as assisting physicians with procedures and patient care. Clerical duties include managing patient records, completing forms, and handling prescription refill requests. The role also involves ensuring examination rooms and medical supplies are prepared according to hospital and infection control standards.

Duties :

• Assist patients with walking, transferring, and dressing.
• Perform vital signs, assist with procedures, and document care.
• Manage and file patient charts, and enter orders in EMR.
• Maintain medical supply inventory and sterilize equipment.
• Handle appointment scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verification.
• Comply with personal protective equipment requirements and infection control protocols.

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma/GED and completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate course.
• BLS certification (AHA required).
• Registered Medical Assistant required, Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, HIPAA guidelines, and electronic medical record systems preferred.

Skills :

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability to a growing and changing environment.
• Basic MS Office skills required.

Additional Information : The role may float to Family Medicine and ENT departments as needed.
