Title: Medical Scribe

Employment Type: Full Time

Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

City: Bettendorf

State: Iowa

Position Responsibilities:

• Following the physician into the exam room and documenting the patient's exam, physician's interpretations, and treatment plans in an accurate and efficient manner
• Typing physician's notes from patient exams into the patient's electronic medical record
• Entering the patient's medical history in the electronic medical record post exam
• Preparing the patient's records for the next office visit
• Helping the clinic team with any additional duties that may be necessary while in clinic
• Understanding and applying Meaningful Use in everyday practices
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Previous medical scribe or medical assisting experience is preferred
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and staff
• Strong active listening and typing skills
• Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
• Must be able to stand for extended periods
• The ability to travel between ORA's clinic locations as scheduled is required
