Essential Duties
1. Designs, develops and implements scalable solutions for security system installations, upgrades, repairs and change outs. 2. Researches and tests new security technologies, systems, equipment, components and products. 3. Provides recommendation for technology enhancements and improvements and perform due diligence in assessing new technology solutions, including cost and budget preparation. 4. Oversight of all aspects of the University access control systems which includes planning, design, installation and maintenance for new and existing clients. 5. Establishes and implements effective, predictable and measureable processes and procedures. 6. Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentations and presentations. 7. Oversees systems integration functions, working with and providing direction to outside consultants. 8. Suggests areas for improvements in internal processes by remaining on the forefront of emerging industry best practices on security systems. 9. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree and five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Position Focus:
Yale University's Public Safety Department provides physical and electronic security services to the Yale community making the environment on campus a safe as possible. The Systems division of the department is responsible for the physical security systems including access control, closed-circuit video, intrusion alarm and many others. In addition to the systems hardware, there is also a monitoring component. The purpose of this role is to assist in managing the systems, oversight of design and installation, as well as interfacing with systems operators and security vendors. The Physical Security Systems Manager reports to the Associate Director of Public Safety Systems and will work in an ever-changing environment and may have to work flexible hours on occasion. This position will direct Central Alarm Station monitoring officers, security vendors and fellow team members in proper protocol and best practice to systems management/response. Will coordinate new, customer-driven security projects from inception to commissioning.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Minimum 5 years of project management experience encompassing both office-based and field operations. Experience working with large access control systems, intrusion systems, and IP based video management systems. IT experience and understanding of network infrastructure. Excellent knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, and Windows.
