Qualifications

• Has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited 4 year college or university or is in final semester.
• Conceptual knowledge of hydrology 
• Knowledge of hydraulic math
• Understanding of algebraic and trigonometric math
• Excellent written communication skills
• Excellent critical thinking skills
• Learns new concepts quickly
• Easily adaptable
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products -- especially complex Excel spreadsheets
• Experience in creating/drafting a full range of engineering plans or site development: Grading and Drainage Plans, Storm Drain Plans, LID Design and Hydrology Studies, Water Plans, Utility Plans, and USMP Plans (preferred)
• Experience and proficiency in using Engineering software: AutoCAD and HEC-RAS (preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to problem solve and apply existing knowledge to new situations

 

 

Benefits

• Salary range from $28 - $50/hour, depending upon qualifications. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US

Responsibilities

• Be a key member of the Engineering Department, with a specific focus on drainage and hydrology.
• Hydrological analysis for LID Design, Hydrology Studies and Storm Drain Plans
• Utilize modeling tools like HEC-RAS to predict and simulate hydrological processes
• Ensure compliance with local, county and state regulations
• Collaborate with the Engineering Department to address plan check comments and client needs
• Use hydrological analyses to integrate with Grading and Drainage Plans, and any other development plans as necessary
• Stay informed about relevant regulations and best practices with regard to hydrology and storm water management.
• Graciously assists others in the Engineering Department as needed
