PROJECT ENGINEER - IMMEDIATE HIRE OPPORTUNITY

The ideal person will have experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling. In this position you will work on floodplain management projects related to FEMA flood hazard mapping

Your Role with the Company
•Computer modeling and mapping related to coastal riverine flooding per FEMA's guidelines and standards
•2-dimensional storm surge modeling, coastal flood hazard analyses and mapping, flood hazard analysis and mapping.
•Perform coastal analyses using approved software by FEMA including WHAFIS and CHAMP
•Perform riverine flood hazard analysis using approved software by FEMA including HEC-RAS and ICPR.
•Field work to document existing conditions of coastal and floodplain analysis projects
•Preparation of reports and technical notes
•Coordinate with Project Managers and technicians with flood hazard mapping per results of coastal and riverine analyses.

Background Profile
•3-15 YEARS OF RELATIVE EXPERIENCE
•Experience with coastal and storm surge modeling
•Experience with coastal flooding hazard assessments and tools including FEMA WHAFIS, CHAMP, HEC-RAS and flood hazard mapping is also extremely beneficial.
•Experience in coastal and riverine hydraulics, wave mechanics, and sediment transport
•Knowledge of modeling software related to coastal modeling and resiliency such as storm surge, oceanographic, and/or tidal hydraulics modeling, wave generation and propagation modeling, and/or coastal sediment transport and morphology models.
•PE a plus
