Known for our commitment to quality and superb customer service, Central Texas Stone and Aggregate is a leading provider in the Texas rock quarry industry. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Bilingual Scale House Operator to join our dynamic and growing team.
The Bilingual Scale House Operator reports to the sales manager and will be the first point of contact for our drivers and visiting contractors. The role involves managing weighbridge operations, accurately recording weights, processing data, and providing excellent customer service. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with our diverse team and clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate electronic scale equipment to weigh trucks before and after they are loaded with materials.
- Record and calculate the weight of material purchased or sold, issuing weigh tickets accurately.
- Input data into our computerized tracking system with precision.
- Manage cash transactions for sales where required.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards around the scale area.
- Provide clear, courteous communication and customer service in English and Spanish.
- Maintain the scale house, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Coordinate with the sales and plant personnel to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
- Conduct regular scale checks and coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Prepare daily reports and reconcile transactions at the end of the shift.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the quarry or construction industry is preferred but not required.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills.
- Excellent communication abilities in English and Spanish.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including, in rare instances, nights and weekends.
- Strong customer service orientation.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Capable of occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
