POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager, Accounts Payable

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Accounts Payable to lead and oversee the Accounts Payable team, managing a group of nine professionals. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Lead and oversee the operations of the Accounts Payable team, ensuring timely and accurate settlement of obligations, including tax reporting, withholdings, and escheatment responsibilities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Accounts Payable best practices, establishing and enforcing SOX-compliant internal controls to minimize financial and operational risks.
  • Perform complex analyses and provide management reporting for stakeholders.
  • Establish measurable key metrics for the team, driving achievement of metric-based goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and refine Accounts Payable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Build strong relationships with all stakeholders, addressing challenges with creativity and urgency, and handling resistance with professionalism.
  • Foster team development by evaluating performance, improving productivity, and coaching team members for higher performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 8-10 years of Accounts Payable experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting principles and Accounts Payable systems, including Supplier Enablement, Workday, ACH, Corporate Credit Card programs, and e-invoicing solutions.
  • Knowledge of State Tax and Usage Laws, and IRS regulations (1099, W-2, 1042, and W8 reporting).
  • Experience with SAS115 and Internal Controls, particularly in non-profit organizations.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory abilities, with a proactive, flexible approach.
