Toole Design Group in Minneapolis, MN is looking to hire an experienced and talented full-time Senior or Principal Engineer . Do you have a strong background in civil engineering with a focus on multimodal traffic and safety analysis and/or traffic-related final design items such as traffic signal design, lighting design, and signing/pavement marking design? A Day in the Life of a Senior or Principal Engineer
You are at the forefront of brainstorming creative solutions for challenging projects. You will help lead the creation of signing and pavement marking plans, maintenance of traffic, and traffic signal plans for roadway projects and streetscapes in highly urban settings. You may use programs such as Synchro, VISSIM, Highway Capacity Software, and other methods to analyze multimodal traffic capacity. You may also use MicroStation, and AutoCAD to fulfill production work on your projects. You'll use state of the art tools and practices to help create sustainable multimodal transportation networks. You'll also have the opportunity to work on a wide spectrum of projects that inform your design work, including road diet analyses, multimodal traffic studies for new development, roundabout studies, trail/roadway intersection studies and designs, and parking studies and design guidance.
You will be at the table with clients and colleagues from a variety of disciplines, delivering project ideas from concept to construction. You share your knowledge on stakeholder and public outreach, developing feasibility studies and concept plans and preparing construction documents for innovative projects throughout the country. You participate in business development pursuits in your home region as well as across our North American offices. Work Schedule for a Senior or Principal Engineer
This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 2-3 days per week.
About our Minneapolis Office
Toole Design's Minneapolis office is conveniently located downtown at 212 3rd Avenue N, near to the Mississippi River and Cedar Lake bike trail systems and walking distance from Metro Blue, Green, Orange, and C line Stations. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.
Located in the North Loop neighborhood in the historic Colonial Warehouse building, the office is inside the former headquarters of the city's streetcar company. Our windows overlook the Cedar Lake Trail which most of our staff use to bike to work each day, sometimes with a canine in tow (our building is dog-friendly). You will also find Minneapolis staff conducting "walking meetings" to the nearby Mississippi River, taking transit nearly anywhere in the region, or hopping on bike share to attend meetings.
