Dynamic Group is a premier injection mold manufacturer and molder located in the northwest suburbs. We have an immediate opening for a Senior Sinker EDM Specialist at our Coon Rapids location! Qualifications: - Technical education and degree in Machine Tool Technology, or related machining program.
- 5+ years of experience in an injection mold building operation.
- 2+ years of experience in Sinker EDM operations. (Makino preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in CNC milling operations.
- Working knowledge of mold components, assembly, and functionality.
- Comprehension of detailed prints and tolerances.
- Proficient in operation of applicable machines/equipment with accountability to achieve required specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to maintain awareness and progress on multiple assignments.
- Ability to make discretionary decisions regarding work assignments and efficient use of resources.
- Willingness to share knowledge and provide instruction in a team environment.
- Confidence and respect in expressing observations, feedback, and direction.
- Reliable follow up with good verbal and written communication.
Responsibilities: Electrode Assembly Evaluation
- Interpretation of Electrode Planners, Manufacturing Plans, Prints, and/or CAD data.
- Collaboration with Mold Design team to ensure understanding of Electrode assembly intent.
- Identification of unique machine capability requirements and/or fixturing opportunities.
- Provide hour estimation for expected Setup/Programming & Machining Time.
- Review of proposed orbit patterns, overburn, quantities, and necessary polish stock.
Electrode Production
- Programming for CNC milling operations to manufacture electrodes.
- Identification & Set-up of appropriate tooling and fixturing required for accurate and safe machining.
- Operation of various CNC Milling Machines and applicable automation.
- Provide necessary inspections to verify electrode integrity and accuracy.
- Identify and develop opportunities for improved techniques, standardization, and unattended machining.
SEDM Machine Utilization
- Conversational programming of SEDM machines applying setup information provided.
- Evaluation and creation of necessary flushing requirements.
- Setup and Operation of various Sinker EDM Machines & applicable automation.
- Application of processes/routines necessary to provide confident and predictable results.
- Identify and develop opportunities for improved techniques, standardization, and unattended machining.
In-Process Inspection Results
- Provide necessary inspections to verify target dimensions are achieved within tolerances.
- Creation of necessary points of measurement for probe inspections as needed.
- Perform & document all necessary inspections to assure quality expectations.
- Ensure best practices and documentation standards in accordance with Quality Management System.
- Communication/Review of inspection results with assigned Toolmaker.
Best Practices & Standards
- Troubleshooting of issues and participation in Corrective Action & Root Cause Analysis activities.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Provide training on machine operation, process controls, and best practices.
- Complete routine Preventive Maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Adherence to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail in pursuit of 1st time quality results
